The countdown is on! In 10 days, on Sunday 2nd August 2026, the gates will swing open for a momentous milestone: the historic 150th Anniversary of the Wayland Agricultural Show!
Held at the Wayland Show Ground on Brandon Road in Watton (IP25 6NG), this beloved traditional event is one of the oldest one-day agricultural shows in the country. - Cheer on the UK's mini racing legends in The Shetland Derby! Watch these speedy Shetland ponies and their brave young jockeys tear up the turf in a thrilling, fast-paced dash for the finish line.
- Breathtaking Falconry Display: Look to the skies as expert handlers showcase the incredible speed, precision, and hunting prowess of magnificent birds of prey soaring over the arena.
- Step back in time for high-octane medieval action from the Jousting Stunt Team. Watch armoured knights clash in a spectacular, hard-hitting jousting tournament filled with equestrian stunts and swordplay.
- Grand Parade of Heavy Horses: Marvel at the sheer power, elegance and beauty of Britain's finest heavy breeds, including iconic Suffolk horses.
- Little Nippers: The ‘Little Nippers’ are the latest addition to the Ridgeside Family – and they can’t wait to bring real mayhem to shows and fayres all over the UK with the ‘Little Nippers Racing’. In the arena they will race both over obstacles and at full speed chasing the electric lure. They offer a fast, action-packed demonstration with an informative and humourous commentary by Phill.

The Wayland Show remains family-orientated, giving children and adults alike the chance to experience hands-on countryside life:
- Children's Competitions: Show Off Your Green Fingers & Baking Skills! Is your child a budding baker, an enthusiastic gardener or a master crafter? Our Horticulture, Cookery and Craft Competitions feature dedicated children's classes designed to get under-16s actively involved in the rural show experience.
- Circus Workshop: Head over to Circus Oz to learn direct from the professionals. This interactive circus workshop lets children try their hand at juggling, balancing and classic circus skills.
- Archery: Test your coordination and focus at the dedicated countryside sports stands, where expert instructors will guide you through picking up a bow and hitting your very first bulls-eye.
- The Family Fun Dog Show: Don't leave your four-legged family members behind! Entries open first thing in the morning right at the showground. You can actively enter your family pet into a variety of lighthearted, fun classes!
- Livestock & Equestrian Competitions: Keep an eye on the ever popular livestock competitions going on throughout the day to see who wins the crown!
- Vintage Vehicles: Take a nostalgic trip down memory lane with a large display of vintage vehicles, heritage tractors and steam machinery.

Norfolk Horns first national show
The Wayland Show is proud to host and promote the Norfolk Horns first National Show at the 150th Wayland Show, celebrating one of Britain’s most historic and iconic native sheep breeds. The event brings together breeders and exhibitors from across the country, providing a fantastic showcase of quality stock, traditional breeding, and the dedication of those passionate about preserving the Norfolk Horn. Visitors can look forward to a superb display of sheep, friendly competition, and a wonderful opportunity to learn more about this remarkable breed and its important place within British agriculture.

The family-orientated Wayland Show will reflect the heritage of the region and the countryside of the 21st century, and provide visitors old and new with a truly rural show experience. New and exciting interactive events and competitions will offer visitors of all ages the opportunity to enjoy hands-on experiences. The Wayland Show committee have been working with the local community, organisations and groups to combine skills and talents to ensure that the 2026 Show is indeed a regional celebration, proud of its heritage yet looking to the future.

Whether that means the chance to sit in a shiny new combine harvester, or a close-up experience with a Suffolk horse, or the chance to ‘have a go’ at livestock judging, there will be something available to ensure a memorable day for everyone and you'll certainly be entertained by the humorous kiwi-style Sheep Show.
At the heart of the 2026 Show will be all that is best from the region – quality livestock, unique craftsmanship, local musicians, and local foods and produce.
