2nd AUGUST 2026
count down to the show!
One of the oldest one-day agricultural shows in the country and a great day out for all the family. With livestock competitions, horticulture and cookery displays and competitions, main ring displays, dog show, children’s rides, trade stands, a shopping village and food hall, vintage vehicles and tractors there is plenty to keep all ages entertained throughout the day!
Mr Peter Reeder BEM
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mr Peter Reeder on 28th April 2026.
Peter has been a stalwart supporter of The Wayland Show for over 60 years, first attending in 1959. A very successful breeder with his Lopham Herd of both Welsh and Large black pigs gaining many great accolades over very many years at all the local shows. Alongside his wife Monica they attended Wayland Show with family members where they were very much part of the Wayland Show committee organising the pig section. Always helping and giving advice to new pig exhibitors with his gentle and calm approach.
A true gentleman who will be very sadly missed, not only on the Wayland Show Committee, but throughout the wider rural and county Show community. Peter will remain in our thoughts as one of the greats of the showing world.
On behalf of Wayland Show CIC we send our condolences to David, Ronda and all his family.
We are busy organising another great Wayland Show for 2026 which will be the 150th year of the show!
The family-orientated Wayland Show will reflect the heritage of the region and the countryside of the 21st century, and provide visitors old and new with a truly rural show experience. New and exciting interactive events and competitions will offer visitors of all ages the opportunity to enjoy hands-on experiences. The Wayland Show committee have been working with the local community, organisations and groups to combine skills and talents to ensure that the 2026 Show is indeed a regional celebration, proud of its heritage yet looking to the future.
Exciting interactive events and competitions will offer visitors of all ages the opportunity to enjoy hands-on experiences. Whether that means the chance to sit in a shiny new combine harvester, or a close-up experience with a Suffolk horse, or the chance to ‘have a go’ at livestock judging, there will be something available to ensure a memorable day for everyone and you'll certainly be entertained by the humorous kiwi-style Sheep Show.
At the heart of the 2026 Show will be all that is best from the region – quality livestock, unique craftsmanship, local musicians, and local foods and produce.
We are keen to promote local participation to truly reflect the diverse cultural heritage of our area.
